A League of Our Own: A resource for aiding in the development of a Rockford Peaches Archive
This is a collection management resource based on a proposed partnership between the Rockford Public Library, Midway Village Museum, and the International Women's Baseball Center, in order to create a Rockford Peaches Archive. This project was created during attending the Graduate School of Library and Information Science program at Dominican University, and revised and updated for the 2nd Annual Women in Baseball Conference. The community of Rockford, Illinois is the intended patron base, and the institutions of the Rockford Public Library, Midway Village Museum and the International Women's Baseball Center, with their websites, collections and programs were used as the basis for this project. As you may have noticed, the title is a play on the film A League of Their Own, released in 1992, which featured the real life All American Girls Professional Baseball League team the Rockford Peaches.
